Sprint to the Summit is an annual walk/race event on our very own mountain trails followed by a potluck brunch at the firehouse.  The 10K race category offers a mixture of road and trail running at an average elevation of 7,500 feet.  The 5K category is an exhilarating power hike that both the young and the young-at-heart can enjoy.  Whether you're a hiker, a runner, a family, or new to the neighborhood, this event has something for everyone!

This year's event will include the following improvements:

  1. BulletAn earlier start to the race ... so we can avoid the heat of mid-day.  We'll also have tents to provide shade in front of the firehouse, courtesy of Basin Recreation.

  2. BulletAn earlier start to the potluck ... yay!

  3. BulletImproved, more visible, trail marking ... because this is not an orienteering event, after all.

  4. BulletCold water will be offered at the fire break road aid station.

  5. BulletModifications to the 10K course to incorporate the new runner-friendly Basin Rec trails in place of the old, steep, ankle-busting trails.

Best of all, this event remains FREE!
